Exercise your dog! A dog with too much energy isn't one you want to leave alone all day in a nice yard-and yet that is exactly what many people do. If you don't take care of your pets exercise requirements, he's going to take care of them on his own, by digging a hole in your yard, or tearing up your good pillowcase.
Dogs who don't get daily exercise are likely to extend that energy and cure boredom by doing thinkgs that you may not like. If your pet burns off some of their energy, they are more likely to nap while your gone.
When you leave your house, provide your pet with chew toys. You can also make them more appealing by stuffing hollow toys-such as a Kong-whith something delicious, like peanut butter.
Walking and running will also exercise your pet in a great way! This Saturday, come out to the 4th Annual Fun Run/Walk with me and Sammy! Cascade Hospital for Animals is hosting the event at 8am Saturday, June 12. Proceeds are benefiting the Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary and the Humane Society of Kent County.
This fun event will ensure that your pet gets a great work out this weekend while being social with other four legged friends. For more information on how you can join me and Sammy, log onto www.chfa.net
