Sammy is on his way to a slimmer, trimmer, and more fit physique. Although the "round hound" look may be cute, it is also unhelathy for your pet.

Use low fat/low calorie treats for training to avoid adding additional calories that an overweight dog doesn't need. A great low fat option could include some vegetables (green beans and carrots are good), rice cakes, pieces of whole grain cereal, along with normal dog food.

Cascade Hospital for Animals also provided Sammy with low calorie treats which he loves. They are shaped in cute bite sized bones, and appropriately called; "Healthy Max"-Weight Management treats.  "Healthy Max" is a great way to treat your pet with out the extra calories.
